So I would just like to note that in this past week’s Us Weekly, Ms. Chloe Grace Moretz (the awesome girl from movies like Kick Ass and Hugo and the new Carrie) reveals that she is carrying my very own book Mermaid in her bag. I strongly suspect that this belies a deep love of mermaids generally.

My name is CAROLYN TURGEON. I'm a well coiffed world famous authoress and wrote the novel MERMAID (which came out in March 2011, and might possibly be a movie), which makes me a mermaid expert. (My newest novel, THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL, which is about Rapunzel growing up to be Snow White's stepmother, comes out in August 2013 from Simon & Schuster; you should obviously pre-order it now or else feel mysteriously and eternally unfulfilled.)
It has been my duty to create this blog so that you too can learn about the world of mermaids, in all its wondrous and manifold forms. Whether you know it or not, there's a deep hole in your heart where this knowledge should be, so I shall do my best to fill it with mermaid lore (and love).
